A member asked:

Can hiccups be caused by something in your ear?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doubt it, but...: Sudden hiccups may be caused by drinking alcohol, smoking, having a bloated stomach, eating too quickly or eating spicy foods, drinking hot or fizzy drinks, swallowing air (as with chewing gum), a sudden change in room temperature.
