My t3free is low. what does that mean?

Low free t3 (liothyronine): This could mean an underactive thyroid if your tsh is elevated. Of course your physician, who knows all your findings, is best qualified to answer your question. Sometimes thyroid medication has to be changed if your body isn't handling your present medication properly, that is if you're taking an adequate dose of a thyroid supplement.

This may be OK: Treatment is controversial and the etiology is not clear. It may be how the thyroid hormones are metabolized in the body. Using thyroid medication is not necessarily helpful. You may not even need need any therapy for this. thisis still an area of research. You should discuss this with your physicians and you may need to see an endocrinologist.
