Low hemoglobin/RBC.: This simply means there is a low mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (mchc), or a low average amount of hemoglobin for each red blood cell. It is a measure of the concentration of hemoglobin in a given volume of packed red blood cells. Mchc is low in microcytic anemias, like iron deficiency anemia, and thalassemia.

Low MCHC: Low mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) can be seen in iron deficiency anemia and thalassemia. It can also be falsely abnormal if the patient had a very high glucose (sugar) level when the sample was drawn.
