Yes.: A fibroid is a non cancerous tumor of the uterus and is very common. It only needs to be removed if you have problems like heavy periods that do not improve with medical therapy or if you have symptoms of pressure or pain. A fibroid can always be removed regardless of the size. The size will only determine what incision is used to remove the fibroid. Hope this helps.
