I woke up this morning with numbness in my thumb and fore finger, i do not have carpal tunnel as far as i know. no injury. what other causes can it be?

Carpal tunnel: does affect these fingers, but if it the back of the thumb by the knuckle and the back of the finger by the large knuckle it may represent an issue in the radial sensory nerve distribution , It can also be due to a more proximal region such as the neck with a disc or bone spur or anything affecting the cervical nerve roots for example the C6 dermatome, see a doctor to go beyond -as far as you know
