Neurologist: You should first be evaluated by a neurologist, a doctor who specializes in nerves. He or she can order a nerve test if necessary. If the pain is sharp, burning , stabbing, or tingling, you may be treated with lyrica, (pregabalin) neurontin, cymbalta, or elavil.
