Lots: Most patients with peripheral arterial disease (pad) do relatively well. Lowering your cholesterol, stopping smoking, a walking program, and stopping smoking (mentioned twice because its that important) may stabilize symptoms if not improve them. Some (not most) patients require more invasive treatment either by angioplasty or surgery. Treatment options are continuing to improve.
