I have a sinus headache due to a cold. i took a 24 hour claritin pill this morning, but it didnt help. can i take benadryl (diphenhydramine) now? its only been 12 hrs.

Yes you can: it might make you a bit more sleepy. But that should not be a problem now that it is time to sleep.
