Upper respiratory infection: Probably a upper respiratory infection. The mucus you are producing is coming from the sinuses. For symptom relief you can use a saline nasal spray, and take a cold medicine that has a decongestant in it. If nasal stuffiness is intolerable, you could use a nasal spray like Afrin however when this medication wears off your nose will be stuffer then before you used it. You will need an antibiotic.
