Why infection?: The temperature readings you mentioned are normal. Is there another reasons why you think there's an infection? Inordinate amounts of pain? Diarrhea? Does the surgical site look red, or is there pus oozing from it? Again, those temperature readings are normal, but if you have a real concern about infection then you need to visit with your surgeon very soon.

This may be normal: Everybody's normal is different. Mine is 97.0 and I'm healthy as a horse.
