Ankle Fusion: I do not do this type of surgery, but feel you need to go to someone with alot of expertise. The ankle can be fused at a right angle or with the heel slight elevated for wearing heals. I have seen good and bad fusions, typically in relationship to how flat the heel is to the ground afterwards (not supinated or pronated). You can not run after ankle fusion, but you can hike.
