A member asked:

Hi! i am a tad impatient and asked my doc for a bhcg at 8dpo. it said <1. is it possible that it was too early to do a blood test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Patience...: Patience is a virtue that all parents, and those hoping to be parents, should seek. A pregnancy test done correctly should give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex, or 1 week after missing a regular period. Hopefully, if wanting a baby, the test will be a positive, but there should be no need to give it another thought until then. Home urine pregnancy tests are very accurate.
