Pregnancy: Pregnancy can usually be detected on a blood test about 7-12 days after conception. If the test is negative, and then there is a missed period, I would have the test repeated.

Depends: It depends on how long it has been since intercourse. Usually, one week after a missed period is fairly reliable when testing for pregnancy. Some times it is positive sooner, sometimes later. Ask your doc to check anyway. If you are pregnant it will affect what medications might be prescribed.
