Pain relief: You can start by resting it as much as possible. You should also take a strong anti-inflammatory such as aleve (naproxen) or ibuprofen. Take up to two aleve (naproxen) tablets twice a day or up to 4 of the 200 mg ibuprofen three times a day for two weeks at a time. You may also need some physical therapy to help strengthen the supporting muscles.
