Long periods: Hello, Average menses is 2-7 days. Your period having continued for 13+ days indicates a need for GYN exam to assess for causes of the persistent bleeding. Some reasons could include polyp at the cervix or the lining of the uterus (endometrium), fibroids, etc. Your doctor may order a pelvic ultrasound and request blood work along with the clinical exam.
