A member asked:

How painful is an endometrial biopsy? i've read stories about women passing out, going into shock, etc. any truth to those claims? i'm so scared

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Discomfort: Different people react differently to the discomfort of dilatation of the cervix that is needed to pass the instrument through the canal. The biopsy per se should not be that painful. Express your concern to your doctor to ensure you have adequate pain medication and if needed, be under moderate sedation.
