Not sure: More studies are needed to establish a link between proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and CKD. If you want to avoid PPI, try dietary modification. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, caffeine, spicy/greasy food, garlic/onion/pepper/mint/citrus/tomatoes. Eat small, regular meals, and lose weight if you are over weight. Stay upright after eating helps. you might consider an scope into stomach to rule out other things

No: Omeprazole doses *do* need to be adjusted if there are liver problems present but *not* for CKD. You can continue to safely take your omeprazole.
