Low carb diet : There is a much simpler approach to healthy limitation of carbohydrates than counting carb grams. It is simply the elimination of two classes of carbohydrates: sweets and starches. Sweets are sweet things sweetened with sugar. Artificial sweeteners are not ideal but much better than sugar (i would always recommend avoiding aspartame and saccharin). Starches include any grains, potatoes and rice.
