ASAP!: The course of influenza is very variable but more serious so if your child has an underlying illness. CDC advisory this year recommends aggressive, expedient treatment of any body with influenza like illness who looks ill. Medications are more effective if started early in the course of illness. I am a strong advocate for yearly influenza vaccine. Do take care and stay healthy.
