My 21 mo. old has had 7 ear infections- mostly after colds. he is not in daycare or around kids but is sick every 3/4 weeks. should i be concerned?

Mgt: Children in this age group do acquire frequent ear and respiratory illness. A detailed history would be helpful in providing further advise which is available by in box consult. If these were separate infections, prophylactic antibiotics can be considered.
