A member asked:

I have a burning sensation in the vein on back of my left hand. it is not swollen just feels painful at times not always.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Phlebitis: The vein could be irritated, a condition called phlebitis, but this is not too common on the hand, especially if there has not been a needle in the vein (for example for IV fluids/meds or for IV drug use). If not red or swollen, if no fevers, and if normal sensation and movement, just try soaking it 20 minutes 2x/day.
