Probably not serious: Veins anywhere in the body usually cause no symptoms unless they have a problem such as a clot, inflammation or trauma. There are also many nerves in your hand which can cause similar symptoms. If your vein was the source of the burning it should show some signs of irritation such as swelling, hardness, red color or inflammation. Try local care with heat and ibuprofen. If no better, see an md.
