YES, a good idea...: The average multivitamin has about 400 iu of Vit D though the new RDA for most people is 600 iu. However, most adults need 5000-10,000 iu/day to achieve optimal levels of D, which are between 50-80. Thus,I advise my patients to take at least 5000 iu/day in addition to what is in their multivit.
