Knee pain: The bruising is more extensive if the bleeding was deep & just appearing. The swell IN the knee is worrisome & suggests that you knee was twisted at the time of the external injury and you may have hurt something more than just a bruise. If twisting your knee causes pain, it is a sign of possible internal knee damage. Similarly, pain on bending or blocked movement suggests you see an orthopedist.
