A member asked:

I had a blood test for prolactin and it was 55 which is almost twice the maximum range. i was on risperidone then not now. when should it stop?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends - months: B"sd that a good question - most important is there any problem arising from the mildly elevated prolactin like absent periods or breast milk. Would think unlikley with the level of prolactin. Prolactin is produced in the puititary gland located in a bony indentation of the skull behing the eyes. Risperadol blocks dopamine which results in high prolactin. Other causes are possible, would monitor
