No worries: Your doctor is right. It's common to feel lymph nodes in the groin in healthy people, generally due to past minor infections. As long as they aren't particularly large or tender, nothing need be done. Your doc also is correct about poking and prodding making them more tender, larger, or persist longer. Hands off.
