A member asked:

Can i cause brain damage if my head is jerked around while i am concussed? or does there need to be some mechanical force involved?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Post-consussion: After a concussion, for weeks the brain is at greatly increased risk of damage from repeated trauma. This would include jostling from a roller-coaster or off-roading, contact sports. Even excess visual stimulation such as reading, (yes reading!), must be avoided after a concussion until completely recovered. It is a very sensitive and potentially dangerous recovery period which must be respected.
