Typical appearance: A stye is from a blocked gland in the lid at the base of each lash. The gland "mouth" will look white when you view the lid on edge. The stye is in the substance of the lid. Try treating it with a very warm (not hot) washcloth applied to the lid for 4-5 minutes about 5 times per day for several days. It present for more than 1-2 weeks, then see your ophthalmologist.
