Not really: Best to get the three HPV shots. If you're over 26 years of age your insurance won't pay for it. Isn't the health care system in the US, such as it is, wonderful?

24 months: It's interesting that you ask: just to double check myself I checked the cdc.gov and the webmed.com websites and did not find an answer. http://www.cdc.gov/std/hpv/stdfact-hpv-and-men.htm sciencenews.org did provide an answer: the median clearance time is 7.5 months, but it can take up to 24 months (based on a study). It is probably a good idea to give it 3 years, before assuming to be free.

Doubt it: The immune system will eventually drive this infection into hibernation.However,HPV is from a family of viruses that tend to go into hiding in your system and retain the potential for intermittent shedding for years, if not indefinitely.Most active shedding is more common on the early end of this process.The available vaccines are the best hope of never getting and shedding this germ.
