What is recommended duration for repeating endoscopy in order to monitor esophogitis ? are there side effects of repeating endoscopy too often?

R/o Barrett's: The repeated EGD schedule for esophagitis to monitor for Barrett's esophagus, which is a precancerous condition. Depending on findings and biopsy results, this should be done anywhere from every 6 months to every 3 years. In experienced hands, this is considered a safe procedure.
