Yes!: Depending on what part of your ankle hurts, you may need an xray to make sure there is no fracture (broken bone). Even sprains sometimes require crutches and an acewrap or air cast. An orthopedist would be the correct specialist, though an urgent care can also be very helpful.

Ankle injury: An ankle injury can occur from a sudden movement causing the ankle to roll over in one side or the other. A lateral or outside injury is more common and one can see a swelling and black and blue in the outside of the ankle. There are ankle ligaments that may tear partially or completely and that causes the swelling or edema and pain of the ankle. See a Podiatrist ASAP to get treatment.
