Potentially: Yes potentially. If you have osteoporosis, the bone can be weaker than normal and predispose you to a fracture. Consider requesting a bone density test. The other possibility is that it is a stress fracture. This occurs when multiple small injuries occur beyond your ability to recover from each insult, as can happen in running extensive distances. Discuss with your doctor.
