I'm wondering why are some people more prone to red eye in pictures than others?

Pupil size: Red eye comes from close alignment of the flash with the camera lens which shows the natural color of the back of the eye. This happens more frequently if the pupil is large or the picture is taken in a darker room. Some cameras have the flash closer to the lens and this will happen more often.
