Watch and wait: If there is no pain, you may wait it out. Just check the nail periodically, every couple of days would be fine. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

Not nailed down.: It could be entirely possible that the nail plate has loosened from the underlying bed. If this has happened then don't be surprised if one morning you awaken to find your nail flipped up or off. Fret not, a new one will probably replace the lost one.
