Probably not ALS: Fortunately it is unlikely that you inherited any gene for ALS (90-95% of ALS is NOT inherited) and it was your uncle, not your parent! The most common first symptom of ALS is weakness and atrophy (shrinking) of muscles in the affected body part. Sometimes muscle twitches can simply be from pinched nerves or overuse/fatigue of a muscle. If the symptoms continue, see your DR.
