A member asked:

My 15 y/o son may have brusitis (left hip) from running, can it heal on its own?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bursitis of the hip.: Bursitis is an inflammatory process of the fluid-filled cushion that surrounds an protects the hip joint. Generally this does heal on its own, maybe supported by anti-inflammatory medications, but it can take several weeks to properly heal. If not, then an Orthopedic evaluation may be wise.
