DENTAL PAIN: Antibiotics are often able to treat dental complaints. BUT REMEMBER these medications alone do not typically provide definitive treatment, which means that a visit to the dentist should not be avoided even if the pain and/swelling improve.

24-48 hours: But remember, antibiotic only controls infection in/around a tooth...doesn't cure it. When the course of antibiotics is over, pain and infection will come roaring right back. You need definitive dental treatment to remove all infected tissue. See your Dentist for appropriate treatment.
