Naproxen overdose: Should not be a problem. Some suicide attempts with larger doses only resulted in gastritis. Give him some food and antacids. If he has any vomiting or bleeding (black colored stools) that needs to be reported. And make sure he keeps well hydrated. We have used doses of 1500 mg daily, but we do periodic blood tests to look for problems. The naroxen will be out of his system in 24 hours.

Most healthy persons will not be in danger after taking 1650mg of naproxen once. It's still a bad idea, and yes, it can and will cause serious problems even in healthy young people with repeated overdosing.
