A member asked:

Whats wrong? positive ana, homogeneous. wbc level is 3.1 and monocytes are low (198). i am on omeprazole (40 mg 2x a day) and 120 mcg armour thyroid.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Luekopenia: Low WBC can come from various couses. One is infection. Blood diseases. One is systemic lupus. With a positive ANA, one needs to know how strong and if there are other immunologic markers present. Sometimes a low level ANA can come with anti-thyroid antibodies. But you need to see a rheumatologist. The first thing I would do is repeat the tests to see if the abnormalities are persistant.
