A member asked:

Im 37yrs old male and i've got high 149 ggt result and normal alt at 42, is this result something critical? what is normally the problem? thank you.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fatty liver: B"sd these are liver enzymes with GGT being the most sensitive to anything that can effect the liver, from too much to drink to numerous viral infections, drug exposures to name a few. As an endocrinologist most elevations of liver enzymes are due to fatty liver. Would repeat your tests in a couple weeks - very likely back to normal.
