A member asked:

Can there be any inpatient psychatric help for someone who is bipolar and unemployed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Inpatient psychiatric is expensive, and simple mental illness and unemployment would likely not be enough to meet hospital criteria. Community mental health centers offer low cost or free services, have support groups and will usually assess for medication, needs for inpatient or outpatient treatment, and may help with social work services. Vocational rehabilitation state services may also help.
