A member asked:

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Need serial betas: The chances that a pregnancy is viable at this very early time will usually depend on the rate at which your betaHCG levels are increasing. Normally, they would be expected to double every 40 to 50 hours, therefore serial betaHCG tests are needed; once they reach 1000 to 1500 miU/ml a pelvic ultrasounographic exam can provide additional information regarding the "viability" of the pregnancy.
