Metabolic Syndrome: A fatty pancreas is generally a sign systemic issue and there is often fatty liver . It's a sign of excess "visceral" (abdominal fat). Although, the fat if extreme could cause the pancreas not to work as well, it is usually a sign of overall intra-abdominal fat which a risk factor for cholesterol probs, high BP, prediabetes & DM. Starting a gentle exercise program and healthy diet are key!
