Tested too soon: It takes at least 2-3 weeks, sometimes up to 12 weeks, for HSV blood tests to become positive. Blood testing so soon was pointless; your positive HSV1 result has nothing to do with your recent expsoure. If you've been testing on your own, without professional advice, it would be better to see a doctor. In the long run, it probably will be cheaper than repeat blood tests you might not need.
