Herpes is Contagious: We now understand that herpes infection leads to viral shedding whether you have a sore or not. Herpes 2 in the vaginal canal during delivery can lead to neonatal eye infections and blindness. It is old knowledge, now proven false, that you are only contagious with a sore. If you are hsv 2 negative then you do not need to worry.
