There are many forms: of salt..sodium chloride. In the US we mostly use table salt, fortified with iodine, something that has prevented goiter (thyroid enlargement). Himalayan pink crystal salt has been touted because it contains many trace minerals. We get most of these easily in the rest of our diet. It can also contain harmful contaminants like uranium! It has NO effect on weight loss. Save your money:)

Little difference: The American Heart Association recommends 1500 mg of sodium chloride per day. Most Americans eat twice this amount and too much salt contributes to bloating, hypertension. Iodine is a required mineral-thyroid-and that is why salt is fortified with it. Pink salt differs very little and has trace elements that are healthy but also lead and plutonium in small amounts. Keep track of salt intake.
