Yes: Studies support the benefits of exercise in reducing pain from fibromyalgia. Other non medication options include but not limited to stress reduction, meditation, acupuncture. There are currently three drugs that are fda approved for the management of fibromyalgia: Pregabalin (lyrica), duloxetine (cymbalta), and milnacipran (savella). Other medications such as tramadol (ultram) may be helpful too.

Pain flare treatment: There are many treatments which can be tried for fibromyalgia flares other than prescriptive medications. These include stress reduction techniques such as biofeedback or massage, water therapy, electrical stimulation (e.g. Tens unit), and over the counter analgesics.
