Societal obesity.: The high rate of obesity in American society is related to the pervasiveness of rich food options and sedentary lifestyles. As well, our portion sizes tend to be much larger than they should be. And, were a stressed out society, and stress contributes to an increase in adiposity. Then there's genetics, which play a role within families.
