68% overweight!!: Over 2/3 of us adults are overweight (bmi over 25). Among black women, the incidence is 82%. The term "obesity" applies to people with a bmi over 30. That is about 30-40 pounds over ideal weight. The attached picture shows that over 35% of the us is obese! education, advocacy, and research are available through the obesity action coalition. Estimates of up to 40% of the us population being obese are in play, its a huge national problem.
