I'm wondering is grapefruit seed extract and/or elderberry safe during pregnancy?

No, they're not: Elderberry so far has insufficient studies of pregnant women using it to determine safety to fetuses. German studies of grapefruit seed extract, have shown 5 out of 6 products to be adulterated with benzethonium chloride, a synthetic antimicrobial often used in cosmetics, as well as the preservatives triclosan and methylparaben. Topical use on nail fungus, etc may be okay, but don't use internally.
